Thought for Day 2 #stayhome

Some have been comparing the times in which we are now living, to the period prior to WW2. The Chancellor described it yesterday as being the only time of its kind “in peace time”. It got me thinking about the heroes and heroines of past wars, of people who worked for the resistance, who performed great acts of service, rescuing folk, helping them escape, saving lives, saving themselves after unimaginable horrors, and being remembered for those acts. It made me wonder what is it I would like to be remembered for when this period has passed? Who is the person I would like to have been? What is the mindset I would like to have chosen? What will I be proud to have led for?

I am genuinely noticing in myself a sense of responsibility for others, a desire and a readiness to be useful. Much of my purpose is about supporting people to live and work well, including during times of crisis. I am doing that through writing, through mobilising my network of coaches, through distributing leaflets offering help to my neighbourhood and especially the elderly, through offering my services to medics and to communities of which I am a part. I am also doing this through trying to take care of myself.

What if we were all to set an intention now for the impact we want to have had and on whom by the time the virus is gone? What would it be for you?
